I traveled through the winter wonderland to Clinton, NJ a few weeks ago to meet this adorable little man:) He was so excited for his photo debut and really didn't want to miss anything, so not much napping. Eventually he snoozed for a bit and we go the most adorable sleepy shots.

We also got a few great wide-eyed shots, which I love.

and a few with his big brothers. They were so cute with him, they serioulsy adore him!

Le Petit Prince {NJ newborn photographer}

Le Petit Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery is one of my most favorite books ever. I've read it in English and in French over.and.over.and over:) Love it.

So this shot is one of my new favorite newborn shots. Love it!

I met the little prince's glowing mama about two weeks before he was born for her maternity session. He decided to come a week early so his parents could have the best Christmas ever:}

Sugar and Spice {Philadelphia baby photographer}

I rang in the new year by photographing a lot of babies and it was fantastic.

This little sweetie lives just a few blocks away in a house that my family toured while house hunting in Moorestown a few year ago. It was so fun to meet her parents and see the wonderful job that they've done rennovating:}

Of course it was great hang out with this adorable snuggle bug for a few hours too:}

I am very excited to announce Image of the Year contest. I have been going through my archives from 2010 to pick out my favorite images from each session.

All contenders will be posted here on the blog this Friday December 17th and voting will take place from the 17th through the 24th.

His little sis was a bit of a tough customer, but happy if we were playing Lady Gaga on the ipod. Toddlers:)

Confession - I love her dress {from winter water factory}sooo much that I had to buy one for my little girl.

Oh...and one of my favorite things about this session is that they are expecting a new baby brother or sister, so I get to photograph them again and get my newborn fix very soon!

I just loved this session, shot at this adorable family's farm is Moorestown. One of the best things about shooting at a farm is barn light...it is so pretty:}

As a child, my grandmother called my cousin (brunette) and I (blonde), Snow White and Rose Red. I guess we reminded her of the fairy tale.

I kept thinking about Snow White and Rose Red as I looked over the images from this session.

This gorgeous baby girl resembles snow white with her delicate features, perfect peachy white skin, and lovely dark hair...

And big sis reminds me of the cheerful Rose Red...

They were so sweet together.

I spent the weekend in Cape May to celebrate my birthday and it felt like summer...and I love summer so I have Sinatra on my mind tonight:)

Each Session lasts 20 minutes and includes 6-8 proofs in an online gallery.

Sunday October 17th ~ 8:30, 9, 9:30 (am) and 4, 4:30, and 5 (pm);
and Tuesday October 26th ~ 4, 4:30, and 5 pm

Limited edition collections (*session fee is included in collection price)

Collection I $ 300 – 25 personalized holiday cards, (1) 8x10, (4) 5x7s, (1) holiday keepsake ornament

Collection II $425 – 50 personalized cards, $100 print credit, (1) holiday keepsake ornament, (1) high resolution digital file

I love four year olds. Four is the cutest age and so fun to photograph.

I love the different range of expressions at 4...they can be silly, happy-go-lucky, and soulful & serious, all with-in 5 minutes.

This sweet couple traveled from Baltimore to have their maternity portraits taken and I am so honored to capture this special time for them! I can tell that they are going to be amazing parents because (1) Katie adores children, and (2) they are a great team, it is very apparent that they truly adore each other and are so excited to meet their little bundle.

I met this adorable little girl on Saturday and she did what toddlers to best ~ go.go.go:-) I had fun hanging out with her and her family, including her puppy.

We had snacks, clapped hands, bought balloons, sang songs, were asked to leave private property {that I didn't realize was private property}, and got some great shots:) What a morning, it's all in days work for me!

Great job Mom on the styling, I love how coordinated but not matchy this look is, just perfect!

Happy Birthday Baby! {Moorestown Baby Photographer}

I can't believe my sweet baby girl turns 1 this week. The year fluttered by so fast...yet I can't imagine my life without her, it's hard to believe that on this day last year I was pregnant and hadn't met my babydoll.

She is sweet, and happy, and melts my heart every day. She is a Momma's girl through and through.

I'm just loving the baby boom in NJ this winter! I love meeting my newest clients and their families. There is just something about a newborn baby, they get me every time. I love that they are full of personality and unique from day one.

There is still time to get in on the winter newborn special ~ all newborn sessions in March include 25 custom designed birth announcements.

Newborns are best photographered before the baby is 2 weeks old. Newborn session are booked when the mother is expecting and a session date is chosen shortly after the baby's birthday.

Let's Do Something - Helping Hearts {Moorestown baby photographer}

Much like when Katrina happened, watching the news on the horrible situation in Haiti saddens and frustrates me. There are many incredibly brave men and women who are out there volunteering their time and risking their lives to help. I wish I was in a position and of strong enough constitution to do the same.

But I’m not.

Inspired by Michelle of Pinkletoes Photography and Lyndsay of Life in Motion Photography, I am going to try to do something to help. But, I need you, too! Here’s the deal:

You could win a custom photo session with me:)
• This session will be photographed me and will be held the on Saturday, February 6th.
• Session is for up to 3 people and will last between 1-2 hours.
• Winner will also receive 15 fully processed, high resolution images on CD. Print to your heart’s content!
How to win:
• Make a MINIMUM donation of $10 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund.
• Forward a copy of your receipt to lisa@lisatrakis.com.
• All entries must be RECEIVED by midnight (Eastern Standard time) on January 27th.
• Winner will be drawn at random and notified on January 28th.
• That gives you a week to shop for something fabulous;-)

I'll be taking some time off from blogging in January. I'm moving tomorrow (yikes), temporarily because my home (aka the Money Pit) is undergoing major renovations in the coming months. I'm excited at terrified all at the same time. Between the big move and a bunch of things on my business to-do list I think the blog will be relatively quiet for a few weeks.

Of course I never post without sharing a few images...so here goes...

This session was a ton of fun, I photographed all five of a certain Mom Mom's grandchildren together, a fun yet exhausting session for sure:)

I heard that a certain Mom Mom cried when she opened these prints on Christmas Day and it just makes well up with gratitude that something that brings so much joy to my life does the same for my clients and their families:)

I wasn't sure if this session would happen because the evening before was filled with gusty winds and our first snow of the season.

We had to reschedule this session a few times due to all the rain we've been having, but we finally pulled it off on a chilly but beautiful morning!

Okay, so the title of my post is cheesy...I know, I know, but the holidays are in full swing here! I am finishing my 2009 sessions and I'm working long hours designing holiday cards & finalizing galleries so prints can be ordered in time for holiday gifts {remember, prints must be ordered by 12/1 to ensure holiday delivery}. I feel like an elf, and then this dress...how can you not want to rock around the Christmas Tree with a dress like this?

...and have you noticed that B*101 is already playing holiday music..and the turkey isn't even on the table yet:) Sheesh.

Ohh, I loved this session so much! Everything was beautiful, the family, the light, the location, just loved everything:}

This little beauty, has quite the personality...I brought dolls and a tea party along and she really just wanted to play with her cars! How cute is that?

I had such a wonderful time this week photographing one of my favorite families!

Now this shot is a little different than the close-up-looking-right-into-the-camera shot that I normally share in my sneak peeks...this just speaks to me and I adore it. There is something magical in the lovely morning light, and the content smile of a carefree 3 year old on his swing.

Speaking of magic, this is a new favorite of.all.time...I just keep going back to look at this one. It doesn't get much sweeter than this!

Introducing beautiful Maya Elizabeth...

It is a fact that I adore *all* newborns and can't get enough of photographing them, but this one is extra special because she is my first niece:)

She is so adorable...and I am in awe watching my little sister as a Mama, it makes my heart skip a beat. The second day after Maya's birth I asked my sister if she knew this baby girl yet, she told me that she woke up at 4 am after just a few hours of sleep and wanted to get her from the nursery because she missed her. {I love the amazing bond between a mother and her newborn baby, I know that feeling...I love that feeling...}

and I love her little baby mullet, see the long hair in the back peeking over her Daddy's hand?

I know, I know it's been way too long since I've updated this blog. I've spent my maternity leave completely immersed in my children and it was such a nice break. The second time around I am even more aware of how fast time flies with the little ones and I'm doing my best to enjoy every second. Now that I am resurfacing a bit, I am so excited to share a few images from an amazing project that I've been working on. I am so proud to be a part of WYSH (Wear Your Spirit for Humanity). WYSH was founded by Lu Hannesian and the products are amazing, I love the colors, love the phrases, but most of all love that a generous portion of proceeds are donated to organizations around the world that help children and families thrive.

born 3/9/09, 8lbs 3 oz, 20.5 inches

We are so in love with Miss Lily, she is the sweetest baby. I never knew how much I really wanted a little girl until the moment we met and I knew instantly that I wasn't complete without her. It was definitely love at first sight:)

I enjoyed a beautiful morning in Princeton last week with an adorable family. I'm not sure if I prefer these shots in color or black and white....

I love their blue eyes in color, but really love the black and white too, it's just so classic.

How sweet is this? Little miss C was finished with me and my camera until we said we'll take some shots of just Mom and Dad, and then she just couldn't stay away:} I love this...

Lucky me, I spent this morning with these super cute kiddos...

on their farm! It is such an amazing property, I LOVED it.

Holiday mini sessions...

Here's the deal, $295 gets you:

~ a 30 minute custom photo session for up to 4 people
~50 custom designed holiday cards or 1 digital file
~ a $125 print credit, perfect for those holiday gift prints

The sessions are scheduled for Saturday October 25th in either Moorestown or Mount Laurel depending on your session time.

Full sessions with holiday delivery are booked solid so these are the only remaining sessions for holiday card and gift images.

Last weekend I was upset because I didn't have a chance to take my guy out for his 2 year-old birthday portraits. I don't have as many photos of my son as you would think. He doesn't really enjoy having his picture taken and at times I am so busy with my clients that a month or two goes by and I realize that I haven't taken any photos of my guy.
I made it a point to make sure that we got out this week for a mini session. I made sure that I planned the session around his happy time of day and even brought a little candy:)

Yay for candy! I got a few images that I just love. I think I'm going to print one as a gallery wrapped canvas.
The red and blue golfer-looking shorts in the first pictures two were not in the planned wardrobe but after a summer of shorts everyday he really resisted putting the pants on. It was either cute pants or happy toddler and I had to pick happy toddler! I finally convinced him to put the jeans on, candy is magic:)

Also, I was just thinking that I often share sneak peeks of sessions but I haven't shared a full session in awhile.

Speaking of full sessions, I have only 2 remaining between now and the end of the year! I may do one day of mini sessions in late October, stay tuned for details on those.

I don't know where the past few weeks have gone, it has been a whirlwind summer so far for sure. I had a awesome time at Moorestown Day...met so many great people and took the opportunity to snap a few photos of some of my product offerings. Here are a few of my favorites {Disclaimer ~ product photography is not my forte:}
First up is the gallery wrapped canvas. I can't even tell you how much I LOVE this product. It is an amazing piece of ready-to-hang art work. Gallery wraps really make a big statement hanging in a room.

Next up is the 10x20 storyboard. This is a fun way to display several images and personalize the display with your child's name, age, a fitting description. My clients love these since they are not your standard stand alone print.

A finally the session album, a classic leather bound display album, pretty outside...

Mini Get-away

I spent the weekend on Long Island visiting family, relaxing, and enjoying the gorgeous weather. Here a few snaps of my little guy...

Long time no post...

I'm glad to be back, I've had so much going on these past few weeks I haven't had time to blog.

I'm very excited that I finished shooting for the WYSH project last week. The models were amazing (thank you to all my models!), I just love the images. Lu is making final selections now and I will be able to share the images in the coming weeks, so look out for that.

On a personal note, I moved in June and I'm just starting to get used to the new place. I love it but it doesn't feel like home 100% yet. I guess that is to be expected though?

Last night, little Rylie and I dodged the storms and I'm so happy we did, she is just the cutest, don'tcha think? {don't forget, you can click on the image to see it larger}

Lucky me, I got to hang out with another cute boy today. He has gorgeous big blue eyes and is all boy, he was playing with his trucks and making 'boy' noises the entire session, so adorable:}
